The vineyard for Rutledge and Vine is situated in the red earth soils of Oakville, and is set alongside the picturesque Silverado Trail at Skellenger Lane.
The gently sloping volcaniclastic-rich and moderately alluvial soils provide for a balanced mineralogy and nutrient profile with excellent drainage, amplifying this as an optical and iconic Oakville vineyard.
Because of the terroir the berries are the perfect size for providing a harmonic balance of, sugar, tannin, aromatics and mouthfeel.
